On May 17, Zogby Polls released results of a Republican presidential poll taken May 15 and 16. 500 Republicans in New Hampshire were sampled. The results: Romney 35%, Giuliani 19%, McCain 19%, undecided 11%, Fred Thompson 6%, Paul 3%, Hagel 1%, Brownback 1%, Tancredo 1%, Tommy Thompson 1%. Huckabee, Gilmore and Hunter were all under 1%. The Zogby site for this poll is here. Thanks to Politics1 for this news.
There goes the theory that Paul supporters have been packing the online polls. He’s top among 2nd tier candidates.
Michigan GOP Chair Saul Anuzis now suggests that candidates who poll only 1% or 2% should be left out of the debates. By that standard, Ron Paul would be included in the debates, and Tancredo, Hunter, Huckabee, Gilmore & Thompson would be eliminated.
I guess I support The Chair’s new standard, at least for pragmatic if not principled reasons.
What a bunch of dummies. Dr. Ron Paul is head and shoulders above the rest of that group.
