The results in California’s special election to fill a vacancy in the 37th U.S. House district on August 21 are: Democrat Laura Richardson 67.1%; Republican John Kanaley 25.2%; Green Daniel Brezenoff 5.4%; Libertarian Herb Peters 2.3%.
In November 2006, there had only been two candidates for this seat: Democrat Juanita Millender-McDonald 82.4%; Libertarian Herb Peters 17.6%.
With 20% of whites leaving California, it will become a one party state of the Democratic Party.
