The Democratic presidential debate held in Des Moines, Iowa, on December 13, was confined to only six candidates. They were Biden, Clinton, Dodd, Edwards, Obama and Richardson.
The debate sponsor, the Des Moines Register, required candidates to have had a campaign office open in Iowa, prior to October 1, 2007. Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel did not meet that requirement. This is the first Democratic presidential debate this year with fewer than seven participants. No Republican debate this year has had fewer than seven participants either, except for one that had only six (thanks to the commenter below). There have been 22 presidential debates this year for Republicans and Democrats.
It’s not a debate without Kucinich. Screw these hacks my fellow democrats; vote your conscience. We all know Dennis is the only one for a better life for all. The rest are in the “club” and just want more power/money.
Power to the People!
OK, they excluded Dennis Kucinich from the Democrat debate, but included Duncan Hunter and Alan Keyes in the Republican debate. Hard to figure what the standards were.
The Standards were:
“the Des Moines Register required candidates to have had a campaign office open in Iowa, prior to October 1, 2007”
Dennis Kucinich is the only candidate whose words match his actions and principles. The newspaper publishers and corporate media executives need to be called to account each time the voice of Dennis Kucinch is excluded from public comment.
Sad to see voices like Gravel and Kucinich not included. Business as usual sadly.
Anyone with a thought-process knows Kucinich is the answer. Sadly, the media is working hard to silence him. Even NPR cut him off when he was about to talk about impeachment!!!
Please, Iowans, don’t be discouraged… VOTE for CHANGE!!!
No Republican debate this year has had fewer than seven participants either.
A quibble: the Baltimore debate (Sept. 27 2007) had only six Republican contenders.
