The faction of the Prohibition Party formerly led by Earl Dodge has now nominated Gene Amondson for president to replace Dodge himself, who died in November 2007. Since the other faction is also running Amondson, there is no longer any factionalism in the party over the presidential nomination this year.
Have the two factions united on everything, now? Or is there a split with one group claiming the books?
I don’t _know_ the separate factions’ positions on “the books”, but if I was betting on the outcome, I’d bet that total reunification (including the books) will be the ultimate goal.
And I predict that they will be no more successful in 2008 than in previous years, putting the lie to the Hedges faction’s description of Earl Dodge as the “Architect of Oblivion”.
i hear that each faction has seperate vp candidates. if this is true sounds like trouble.
4. The vice-presidential nominations will soon be resolved, into a single ticket. Besides, even if that doesn’t come true, it really doesn’t matter. All the publications that tally up the votes for presidential candidates nationwide simply don’t worry if there are different vice-presidential candidates in different states. In November 1976, independent presidential candidate Eugene McCarthy had about 30 different vice-presidential candidates. That didn’t stop the history books from adding up all the votes cast for McCarthy.
