Massachusetts: Tell the Senate to pass National Popular Vote!
Do you think that the President of the United States should be elected by popular vote — rather than voters in a handful of so-called “swing states” deciding the outcome? Shouldn’t everyone’s vote count equally?
If you said “yes”, please take a moment to email your State Senator in support of National Popular Vote.

Sadly, the Senate has passed this worthless piece of legislation. It is an abomination.
This national popular Vote movement hurts us these ways:
1.) It immediately removes any possibility of an Independent or Third Party candidate from influencing the presidential election.
2.) It does not guarantee that the winner of the popular vote will be President because not all states are part of the NVP compact. In fact it will concentrate power in those who hold out from the compact.
3.) It usurps the state’s right to have a voice in the Presidential election. If Massachusetts votes 99% for Ralph Nader, but the rest of the country votes for someone else – too bad. Ralph Nader gets not a single electoral college vote. And therefore loses out on the perks that provides – i.e. funding etc.
4.) It is a blatant attempt to force people to the two major political parties and prevents spoiler independents who wish to press certian issues. It will further polarize the country.
5.) Crap legislation like this passes through the hallowed halls of Massachusetts government every single day.
