Barack Obama was elected to the Illinois Senate in 1996, but he continued to teach law. In 2002 (and probably other years) he taught a course on election law. ElectionLawBlog has posted this syllabus from Professor Obama’s election law class.

Wonder if that AOL email address still works? 🙂
Interesting. The email account probably does not work, if it is a University one.
I do not see anything specifically about ballot access law, perhaps it was covered when he talked about the role of political parties and such.
If there is anything about the two major candidates I do like, it is that with Obama we might get some decent election law stuff proposed, or at least talked about.
Did Obama propose any significant election law changes when he was an Illinois State Senator, or as a US Senator?
When he ran for Illinois State Senator, he sought to knock his Democratic opponents off the primary ballot. He has decided against accepting public funding of his presidential campaign because he can raise more money from private sources.
Jim R, yes Barack Obama did introduce an Instant Runoff Voting bill into the Illinois State Senate.
