On August 27, Ralph Nader held a rally in the Magness Arena of the University of Denver. Approximately 4,000 were in the audience. Also speaking were Sean Penn, Rosa Clemente, and Cindy Sheehan. Here is a Colorado newspaper story about the rally.

Awesome, Nader always does it right.
Did anyone read the attached “news” story? There were so many factual errors that it appears it was written by a highschool freshman in homeroon just prior to turning it in for a grade.
Agreed Herbert. “Nearly 100,000 votes”? Try 2.7 million in 2000.
Ralph Nader got 97,488 votes (i.e. “nearly 100,000”) in Florida alone in 2000. I assume that the author meant to say “in Florida” rather than “nationwide.” However, that is still a pretty bad slip of the pen.
Also, Cindy Sheehan is not a “senatorial candidate;” she’s running for the House.
And Nader’s “grumpy countenance,” the type of phrase these reporters who don’t seem to be very familiar with Nader always use, is offset on a regular basis by his sardonic sense of humor and his smile…..which was plastered all over his face when he walked onto the stage as well as when he finished his speech. No mention of that, however.
I could be wrong but, didn’t Sheehan endorse McKinney?
O.W.
Sorry, “grumpy countenance” pretty well covers my up close first hand observations in California in P2004!
the beauty about this rally is that ralph invited his competition to come on stage! something the DNC and RNC would never do. this was an ‘open the debates’ rally, not just a NaderGonzalez rally. he invited everyone i’m sure. Rose Clemente (green vp candidate) was there. i read that bob barr and cynthia mckinney were not there but they played videos of them they sent. i can only imagine that mccain and obama were invited as well…
