On February 16, the Arkansas Senate unanimously passed HB 1246, one of the two ballot access bills introduced by Green Party legislator Richard Carroll. HB 1246 expands the period for a new party petition from any 60 days of the party’s choosing, to any 90 days. Thanks to Mark Jenkins for the news.
This is great! Hopefully, it will give people in Arkansas more choices!
And how wonderful it is, coming as did from a third-party lawmaker.
Yeah, I recall when we had two Independence Party legs in MN, and I could not get them to introduce ANY ballot access reform bills.
I’m really happy for the Green Party and for Arkansas. What a great victory! See, we Democrats and the Greens can work together after all.
