On April 16, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court noted probable jurisdiction in Ralph Nader’s new appeal of the fees that were assessed against him in 2004. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court had taken a similar action last month in the Green Party’s 2006 case, which was very similar.
Although most readers of this blog are probably already familiar with the issue, to restate it: Pennsylvania is the only state that has ever had a policy of charging petitioning candidates for the administrative costs of removing them from the ballot. Even Pennsylvania had never done such a thing, until 2004, when it was invented to be used against Nader.
Aren’t democrats classy?
Oh come on Matt, it is BOTH the Dems and the GOP whom have co-piloted the Establishment Airline in to the side of a mountain. Equally guilty, to the nth degree? We can argue that at a different time. Here and now, may we agree that BOTH are some what guilty of unconstitutional behavior against the electorate?

It’s about time! On every important issue related to the corporate looting of America, Ralph was Right!
The question re Democrats and the Green Party is not that they alone are guilty. Of course any intelligent voter knows that both parties cheat and steal.. The charge is hypocrisy. They ran on the platform that only Bush et al committed these horrendous crimes. Since Democrats are smarter their crimes were both more ingenious and more frequent. They just might be caught now. See Democrats in power in NYS, Detroit and every Obama cabinet appointment.

You would be surprised of the number of people that operate under the false premise of the Democrat Party as “The Political Party of the Little Guy”.
Even in today’s environment !
Living in NJ I aways thought that NJ was 15 years behind California in their thinking, now living in PA, these guys are 15 years behind New Jersey. This state is a joke!
I voted for Ralph in 2000, 2004, and 2008. If he runs in 2012, I will stand with him once again.
I guess everyone needs a personal hero. Ralph is mine. Shame he has been trashed so much after his 40 + years slugging away in the trenches working on the public’s behalf. Ralph is truly a rarity in this society. An absolutely altruistic human being.
I could be a bit naive on this, but even though he has been pretty much left on the sidelines during the Presidential races, I believe Ralph’s “tugboat candidacy” (as he describes it) is actually beginning to have a noticeable effect on the voting public and politics as usual.
Lastly, when people came up to me last year and told me how much they loved and suported Obama and disliked Nader (obviously still brainwashed from that whole “Nader cost Gore the election” thing), I simply reminded them that Obama, after graduating college, had worked 3 months for a government reform organization (HYPIRG), which was started by Ralph Nader.
It’s about time! Think maybe justice will prevail in the long run? If it does, it will because of Mr. Nader and his persistence, persistence, persistence for justice. Reed- Smith get out that brief case full money to pay off those judges.
