The British newspaper The Independent has this interview with Nigel Farage, in its June 1 issue. Farage is the leader of the UK Independence Party. That party believes the Great Britain should not be part of any European Union federal government structure. Polls show it is likely to do very well in the June 4 European Parliamentary elections, possibly even better than the Labour Party. The UK Independence Party has not yet won any seats in the British House of Commons, however. Thanks to Bill Van Allen for the link.
A bit ironic that UKIP can only win in Euro Parliament elections.
I do not believe in this isolated albion. It is not the way things are now. That was back in the fifties, in the Cold War. Even if you want it or not, UK is a part of Europe, and UK population is not only british. On the other hand there are many british nationals who live and work in mainland Europe. However I think that every european country should be more independent of Brussels and that we should keep our customs and traditions, and , yes, I am fed up with the politically correct loby.
