The Federal Election Commission still hasn’t published “Federal Elections 2008”, the book of election returns, for President and Congress, from last year’s election. The 2004 edition had been published in May 2005. The 2006 edition had been published in June 2007.
Also, the Clerk of the U.S. House of Representatives still hasn’t published “Statistics of the Presidential & Congressional Election of November 4, 2008”. Thanks to Thomas Jones for this.
The election stats should, of course, be in House Document ONE of each new minority rule gerrymander Congress — merely to show the legality of the new regime.
House – half plus the votes in a bare majority of the gerrymander districts = about 30 percent of the total votes.
Much worse for the Senate — circa 10 percent minority rule.
Electoral College — about 28 percent minority rule in electing each Prez/VP.
Part of the delay is due to more and more primary / convention machinations and more and more candidates.
Attributed to ‘Uncle Joe’ Stalin on numerous occasions:
“They that casts votes decide nothing; they that count votes decide every thing!”
#2 SOOOO – count the votes in public with a zillion cameras recording the action (or inaction).
Does this mean that there was no popular vote winner?
