On September 17, Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman said he may run for Governor of Nevada in 2010 as an independent. He said he would make up his mind in three weeks, so an announcement is probably coming soon. He can’t run for another term as Mayor because of city term limits.
Unfortunately, Goodman is no friend to the voters. Earlier this year he fought tooth and nail to silence Las Vegas voters by keeping two ballot initiatives sponsored by the Culinary union off the ballot. With all the calls for further restriction on Nevada’s ballot initiative process already circulating around Carson City, Goodman is probably the last person who needs to be governor. With his anti-voter tendencies, one can easily imagine he won’t be a friend to third parties either.
The Culinary Union is run by the Mexicans. 80% to 90% Third world personal. Anybody against them like Goodman gets my vote.
