The Hartford Courant of November 22 has this amusing commentary on the Connecticut legislature’s failure to revise the state’s public funding law. That law was declared unconstitutional on August 27, 2009, and the legislature has not moved ahead with any proposal to amend the law. The column is by Colin McEnroe.
I love this article, Richard, and thanks for posting it.
Not a discouraging word about the basic message of Judge Underhill (well-presented in this article) that minor parties and democracy itself got screwed by this
Connecticut if-you-expect-us-not-to-take-bribes-you-better-pay-us bill.
All the snarkiness was reserved for the self-serving duopolists in the legislature who wrote this “public funding” measure of, by, and for themselves.
Cheers– and may Underhill’s decision hold up on appeal
