“City Hall” Looks at Working Families Parties in States Beyond New York State — 2 Comments

  1. From the article: “Operations are so robust that late last year, state party executive director Jon Green filed an affidavit in defense of the state’s campaign finance laws in response to complaints from the Green and Libertarian parties about requirements most third parties in the state say are too steep for them to meet.”

Why does this leave me sceptical about the WFP’s commitment to ballot access for alternative parties that aren’t patronage machines?

  2. Jon Green was a bad guy in that instance, but not everyone in the Working Families Party agrees with what he did. Larry Moskowitz, the Working Families Party representative to the COFOE (Coalition for Free & Open Elections) Board voted in favor of a resolution in favor of nondiscriminatory public funding laws. And the bill pending in Congress is not discriminatory.
