California Assembly Vote on Maldonado for Lieutenant Governor is Ambiguous

On February 11, the California Assembly voted 37-35 to confirm Senator Abel Maldonado to be Lieutenant Governor. See this story. Republicans say he is now confirmed; Democrats say he is not because he didn’t receive as many as 41 “aye” votes.

California Assembly Vote on Maldonado for Lieutenant Governor is Ambiguous — No Comments

  1. I have nothing against California State Senator Abel Maldonado, except that he is part of the Establishment Duopoly. His quest to be Lieutenant Governor is short sighted (as that the Governor /Lieutenant Governor ticket should be coordinated on the ballot).

  2. How many election law / government structure cases are there in CA — keeping the CA Supremes and their poor suffering clerks working nonstop — trying to keep up with the nonstop machinations in the regime ???

  3. How many State Constitutions have FATAL defects — even regarding the filling of vacancies in MAJOR State government offices ???

Where is that Model State Constitution — by the various Goo-goo groups — aka *good government* groups ???

  4. Aha — reading the story at the link, I now see what the immediate/direct fuss is . . . 37 votes was a majority of those cast, but not a majority of the whole 80-vote assembly (since eight members didn’t vote).
