Minnesota Legislature Moves Primary from September to August

On March 1, the Minnesota Senate unanimously approved SF 2251, the bill to move the primary from September to August. The bill has the effect of moving the independent and minor party candidate petition deadline from early July to June 1, and it takes effect this year. The Governor has said he will sign the bill.
