In 2009, Jeffrey Vanke created the Center Party. The party’s web page, www.centerparty.us, is at this link. Vanke has begun to circulate a petition to run for U.S. House in Virginia’s 6th district, centered in Roanoke. He needs 1,000 valid signatures by early June.
I feel sorry for these moderate parties. I wish them luck!

Oh God, not another “fiscally conservative, socially liberal” party. They aren’t in the center at all. They take 90% of their votes from the Democrats. Some Democrats vote for them because they like the socially liberal aspects, no Republicans vote for them because Republicans don’t give a damn about fiscal conservatism. For Republicans, being right-wing on the economy has everything to do with cutting taxes and nothing to do with balancing the budget. I’m all for forming a third party if you have an actual, new, different idea but these guys are just prissy Blue Dogs.
It’s hard to imagine we need ANOTHER political party. I haven’t read his website, but politics1.com lists a multitude of the different parties and I’m surprised one does not fit his viewpoints….
