Arizona Governor Jan Brewer Tries to Get Both Public Funding and Private Money as Well, but Commission Says “No”

According to this story, the Arizona Clean Elections Commission has denied a request from Arizona Governor Jan Brewer to change the public funding law, and let candidates who are receiving public funding also receive private money. Brewer wanted the Commission to implement this change by asking the U.S. District Court that is hearing McComish v Bennett to allow the change.

McComish v Bennett is the pending lawsuit in which the plaintiffs, who are candidates not seeking public funding, have temporarily (at least) won a court ruling from the U.S. Supreme Court, stopping the Commission from giving extra public funding to participating candidates who have privately-funded opponents with a great deal of money.

  1. What a disgrace to the people of Arizona..It’s like building a mosque and shrine on the site the twin towers once stood on ! ! God Bless Governor Brewer ! !
Start building the wall along the border ! ! Don’t worry about comrade Obama and his regime ! !

  2. Well its about time somebody said no to the Governor, the way I see it she n Arpaio don’t seem to know what they,re doing by attacking the hispanic/mexican population. This law she has sined needs to be reversed before it affects Arizonas economy worst than what it is. My oppinion is that Governor brewer n Arpaio need to step down and let someone else step in. Cause the only thing they’re doing is making Arizona a Racist State.

  3. GO GOVENOR BREWER !!!
If we could get a grip on all the free $$$ thown around at illegals the ECONOMY could be better for all concerned.(in the US that is)
Finally – Someone who will stand up for the rights of ALL LEGAL US CITIZENS !!!
I would DEFINATELY vote for you for PRESIDENT!
    I LOVE YA

  4. Why is it people think RACISM only applies to americans or white americans? Is there a law some where that says “If Americans stand up for their rights and/or beliefs they have to be called racist?” There are people all around the globe who are racist!
Racism has nothing to do with what is going on in Arizona. It’s the principle.

CONTRIBUTIONS? – Wouldn’t it be great if all $$$ donations were done annonomously? That way there would be no question of whether or not a candidate/vote was bought out by the wishes of big contributer.
I hope Governor Brewer NEVER gives up.

  5. I support Az in trying to secure our borders and protect
    our citizens.
