Recently, John A. Ferentinos filed a federal lawsuit against the Florida Secretary of State, over his exclusion from the ballot. He wishes to run as a Tea Party candidate for State Senate, 26th district. He paid his filing fee and submitted candidacy forms, but he was kept off the ballot because he forgot to fill in the name of his bank on the form “Appointment of Campaign Treasurer and Designation of Campaign Depository for Candidates.”
The only other person running for that seat is the incumbent, Senator Michael Haridopolos. Ferentinos notes that Senator Haridopolos also failed to complete a question on his form. Senator Haridopolos apparently failed to check a box that asks if the bank account is a primary account or a secondary account.
Ferentinos also notes that his failure to put the name of his bank on that form did not cause election officials any harm, because they had his filing fee check and obviously the bank’s name was on the check. The lawsuit is Ferentinos v Roberts, in the middle district, in Orlando, 6:10-cv-1251. His odds are not good because the state will probably argue that he should have filed the lawsuit back in June or July. He was notified that he was off the ballot in late June. Thanks to Darryl Mentro for this news.
An army of lawyers and high speed computers are now needed to check election law paperwork ???
i.e. are the New Age Donkeys/Elephants the ENEMIES of the People — using any excuse to stop dissent ???

All the republicans are trying to do is keep anyone from rocking the boat. They want the Tea Party to know it’s role and fall in line with the GOP, however the GOP is as much to blame for the mess this country is in as the dems. People seem to forget that the GOP was in control of the government for plenty of time and debt, and spending went up, and the government grew in size and scope! The Tea Party opposes the big government agenda of both parties.
The bad guys are on the run! who the hell do the republicans think they are? Somebody comes along to exercise their right to run for public office and they think they can intimidate anyone who doesn’t fall in line. Go get’em John!
Clear cut case of “it’s not what you know, it’s who you know” good ol’ Mike has connections that the Tea Party doesn’t, so he used it to stay in power. John should kick his butt in court and make an example of him. This kind of abuse must be challenged. We can not stand for this. John will bring all of this to light in court. Way to go!
So, an incumbent state senator had someone dare to challenge him, and he called in a favor at the supervisor of elections office. This is the kind of corruption I hope to get away from by voting for the Tea Party in November! Support the Tea Party the only political entity with integrity.
