Donn Esmonde, long-serving political columnist for the Buffalo News (Buffalo’s only daily newspaper) has this column about the New York gubernatorial debate of October 18. The column suggests that Warren Redlich, the Libertarian nominee, had the best performance of any of the seven candidates.
Esmonde wrote; …. that Redlich referenced Cuomo’s campaign donors to flay his supposed reform agenda: “$23 million in special-interest contributions and $55,000 from a parking lot [owner] —does that sound like change to you?”
James Ogle wrote; This Redlich fellow can complain about his opponents all day long, in the end he’s invested rhetoric in promoting their names which is counterproductive.
The only way to approach the two party bunker and succeed is to have a team working together and to promote the whole team, left right and center…as the team of 100 basketball coaches who elects the five executives who are rotated in and out like basketball players, and the 100 improves the team when they vote.
MP Winger [Libertarian] isn’t much into team sports, I guess he’d be more of a golf enthusiast…and Redlich is one of those egotist single winner district golfers.
2010 is over, we had our chances for team play everyday, but when the basketball was thrown their way, they had their hands by your side and the ball just fell to the ground.
You had automatic weapons and bazooka’s but you ne’er fired but a single round in fifteen minutes (years) on Normandy Beach.
