On October 25, and again on October 26, lower state Kentucky courts ruled that two candidates for the legislature are not qualified because they did not have enough valid signatures. See this story. One candidate is an independent, who needed 100 signatures. The other is the Democratic nominee in his district. He needed two signatures to get on the primary ballot but only had one valid.
Because the ballots are already printed, notices will be posted in polling places that votes for these two candidates will not be counted.
So the Dem could not find anyone else to sign his petition? How many signatures did he turn in only 2?
You only need to have two signatures if you are a major party candidate, and the form only has space for two signatures.
How do you fail to get 2 valid signatures??? TWO!!! And for a “major party candidate at that!?!?! It blows my mind…
The argument goes this Obama wants to reach out to a demographic that wouldn’t typically vote in midterm elections unless of course the candidates performed screeching, off-key tops of Whitney Houston tracks. Wasn’t it just this morning that the media has been slamming Obama for “demeaning” the office from the President of the usa by appearing on the particular Daily Show? I can’t wait to be able to hear what the pearl-clutchers within the media have to say relating to this latest GOTV effort through the President.
