Greens Win Three Important Non-Partisan Races in California

According to Green Party Watch, three California Green Party members won important non-partisan elections.  Gayle McLaughlin was re-elected Mayor of Richmond, California.  Dan Hamburg (who was the Green Party’s gubernatorial nominee in California in 1998) was elected to the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors.  Bruce Delgado was re-elected Mayor of Marina, a city in Monterey County.

  1. You’re kidding, right? The Green Party was crushed in yesterday’s California elections. Their governor nominee finished in FIFTH place, a sharp decline from their third place showings in 1998, 2002 and 2006. They lost all the City Council seats they ran for in Humboldt County (once the Greenest county in the nation before David Cobb moved here to stage a Stalinist purge) for the second election in a row. Thanks to Prop. 14, which the Greens failed to rally any substantial campaign against, they are extinct in California (along with the Libertarian and Peace & Freedom parties) come 2014.
