U.S. District Court in Alaska Declines to Stop Write-in Counting Process at this Time

On November 10, U.S. District Court Judge Ralph Beistline declined to order the Alaska Division of Elections to stop counting write-ins for Lisa Murkowski in which the name is misspelled, at least for the time being.  See this story.  Thanks to Rick Hasen for the link.  UPDATE:  here is the judge’s 3-page order, from the ElectionLawBlog.

  2. What an excellent example of Republican greed. First, daddy’s girl Lisa Murkowski can’t accept losing the primary, so files as a write-in. Then, Joe Miller can’t accept that he may have lost to a write-in, so files a voter disenfranchising lawsuit.

    Republicans=Democrats=useless

  3. U.S.A. Senate = probably THE most ANTI-Democracy legislative body in the U.S.A. — due to the blowhard party hacks from the many below average small States.

    435 Reps / 50 States = 8.7 average Reps.

    Abolish the timebomb Senate (see the Civil War 1861 — due to the free/slave State machinations before 1861) — OR elect it in odd numbered years for at most 2 year terms using P.R. to represent ALL of the People/Voters in the U.S.A.
