A card drawing will be held in Eureka County, Nevada on December 20, at 3 p.m., to settle who will hold the office of Eureka County Clerk-Treasurer. The election of November 2, 2010 had resulted in a tie between the Independent American Party incumbent (Jackie Berg) and the Republican candidate (Carrie Wright).
The lawsuit filed by Berg to stop the card drawing was dismissed because the judge interpreted the law to mean that the lawsuit should have been filed 5 days after the votes were recounted, not 5 days after the recount was certified. The card drawing can’t be any sooner than December 20 because the law requires substantial notice to each candidate before the drawing may be held.
How about doing it on the second of the winter solstice ???
Winner says *Eureka* — see Greece.
I still think a duel is better! 😉
Yeah, she probably should have filed it sooner.
Let’s hope she picks the right number!
…And she did!
