On December 20, Eureka County, Nevada officials finally held the card drawing to determine who will be the county clerk for the next term. Jackie Berg, the Independent American Party incumbent, drew the winning card. She chose the 8 of Hearts and her Republican opponent drew a 3. The drawing was held to break the tie vote from last month’s election.
The original count had shown Berg winning by 3 votes, but the recount showed a tie. One difference between the original count and the recount is that the recount eliminated two votes for Berg because they had been faxed in, instead of being postally mailed or hand-delivered. Thanks to Cody Quirk for this news. The Independent American Party now has 4 elected office-holders in partisan office in Nevada.
There is a God!
Congrats!
She had a heart full of luck.
I guess her re-election was in the cards!
Thats great news for the Constitution Party overall outlook in Nevada winning 4 seats now they may get some State wide races won.
Congrats IAP! Peace & Blessings!

Thank you for the post. Sorry about the spelling error on your name on the other two posts. I guess
you errored on what the card draw was. Great news for Jackie. The real question is who did the Hindu
for the card draw. Do you think Jackie would like to speak at a conference of the AIP at Grass Valley
on the last Sunday in June, 2011 for Secession Day
after the Rough and Ready Rascals tell the story of
the events of April 7, 1950?
Sincerely, Mark Seidenbereg, Vice Chairman, American Independent Party

= Guess not, and very few know about that Nevada law.
yeeeaaaaa!!!!
Is there a Constitution party in Nevada or is this an off shot like many of the Reform and Natural Law parties used to be? Otherwise it would be called something like the Constitution Party of Nevada.
The IAP is the Nevada affiliate of the CP. The CP is a national confederation of different state parties, NOT a single entity.
Not only its it a legal pain-in-the-ass to change our name and be on the ballot, but I and all the active members of the IAP oppose such a change!
In fact, I hope for a day when the national party adopts a more populist sounding name.
“a more populist sounding name.”
WHAT ?!?!
Cody,
What is more populist than the U.S. Constitution? …as in “We the people.”
A political party with the word ‘Independent’ in it, that’s what. Attractiveness and voter registration numbers don’t lie.
If we’re going to bring people’s hearts back to the U.S. Constitution, we must do it in a more hip and practical way, because political dogma and tasteless advertising DOESN’T WORK!
Just the obvious — the [We the] People Party ???
Sounds better, but I prefer something with either ‘American’ or ‘Independent’ in it.

= No, I don’t think so- in fact unless your party wants to rejoin the CP and allow Jim King and the other rightful AIP members to have a full say at your meeting, we will have NOTHING to do with your party and your people.
I’ve been away from my computer for several days and happy to learn Jackie Berg was “re-elected” in Nevada.
To Jeff Becker, I have to agree with Cody Quirk. “Independent American” or “American Independent” is a populist as you can get. “Constitution Party” sounds like you are interested in only one major issue-the Constitution. There are many issues which have have nothing to do with the U.S. Constitution. I join with Cody in hoping the leaders of the national CP will come to their senses.
