According to this article, the British House of Lords may sit for 24 hours per day, so as to give that body the opportunity to fully debate the bill that sets up a national popular vote on whether House of Commons elections in the future will be conducted with Instant Runoff Voting (that is not the British term). Election officials say the bill must pass by mid-February 2011, if the vote is to take place in May 2011.
IRV USA = Alternative Vote UK
IRV/AV = THE method to elect Stalin/Hitler clones for single offices when the Middle is divided.
Gee how often is the Middle divided ???

With IRV/AV M loses. S beats H 50-49. Take cover to avoid the civil WAR.
M got a mere 99 of the 1st plus 2nd place votes.
Means ZERO to IRV/AV math MORONS — the same sort of MORONS who pull control rods out of nuke reactors to see what happens — Chernobyl 1986.
Pending major public education about head to head Condorcet math (if that is even remotely possible in this dumb and dumber New Age of math MORONS) —

Approval Voting executive/judicial offices.
Dear apparent liberal-arts major,
I note that M would have lost under any electoral system alive today, even a coalition government.
In addition, I find it wishful thinking on your part that a candidate field consists exclusively of extremists and one middle.
Thirdly, I find it even harder to believe that anyone who votes for extremism would pick “Middle” as a second choice. “Revolution now! But if that’s not possible, I’m willing to settle for a non-revolution, too.”
Kindly,
a non-liberal arts major
#2 See the Australia House of Reps — elected using Alt. V/ IRV — full of left/right extremists.

See the German elections in 1929-1932 — before Hitler was APPOINTED to be prime minister by the party hack MORONS and the SENILE Prez Hindenburg on 30 Jan 1933.
Result – about 70 million DEAD in 1939-1945 – World War II — and the New Age world of various powermad regimes.
Election systems MATTER.
Yes, election systems matter. Just look at these Bayesian regret figures.

Approval Voting is far superior to IRV.
Internet noises about a conspiracy deal among the top party hacks — Cons – Lib Dems – Labour.
Take cover in the U.K.
The very old folks in the HL spent about 21 plus hours on Mon-Tues filibustering the IRV bill — not sure how many of the HL folks were even somewhat awake — including even the various talkers — some of the party hack Brits LOVE talking about absolute JUNK — even more so than in the U.S.A. gerrymander Congress.
