According to this Politico story, U.S. Senator Joe Lieberman will probably announce on January 19 that he will not run for re-election in 2012. In 2006 he was re-elected as an independent candidate. His 2006 ballot label was “Connecticut for Lieberman Party.” He is one of three sitting U.S. Senators who was last elected even though not the Democratic nor Republican Party nominee. Prayers can be answered. The Hall of Shame of VP hopefuls and (sadly) electeds: Nelson Rockefeller, Mondale, Scrub I, Dannie (FYI) Quayle, Bore Gore, Cheney, John (Mister Fidelity) Edwards, and Joseph ‘Mister Establishment’ Bidden. Oh, and Israel First American Zoinist Lieberman, of course.
Please someone take this Seat from Lieberman. He is ruining chances for Peace in the Middle East. WE WANT PEACE. No more settlements!!! No more hate. We want to live in Peace next to all of our neighbors.

How many States elect Guvs and Lt. Guvs separately by the voters ???
Just perhaps each Prez candidate will do a MUCH better quality check on VP choices.
You or I may disagree with him on particular issues, and in some cases you or I may disagree strongly with him, but I give him great credit for being a man of deep conscience and integrity.
Let’s also not forget that he also did something that is the envy of many of us, by getting elected to the US Senate as an independent candidate, over active opposition from both the Democrats and Republicans.
I note that former Democratic CT Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz announced her candidacy to replace him yesterday. Her rulings and statements have been hostile to ballot access on numerous occasions.
