National Popular Vote Plan Bill Passes Vermont Legislature

On April 14, the Vermont House passed SB 31 on second reading. This is the National Popular Vote Plan bill. It had passed the Senate on February 23. It will probably pass the House on third reading Friday or Monday. See this story. UPDATE: on August 15, the bill passed the House on third reading, 85-44.

  1. Finally, we’re moving towards the chance to upgrade from hideous-version Plurality to the regular awful-version Plurality.

    I suppose this is technically better. But it would be nicer if the National Popular Vote Plan afforded opportunity for alternative voting methods. It would be helpful for such a method to be precinct summable. Approval Voting would fit the bill well in that respect.

    How many foreign enemies will be voting for Prez/VP in the usual suspect States/DC ???
