According to this article, Wisconsin Democrats have finished collecting recall petition signatures in five State Senate districts so far this year. By contrast, Republicans have only finished one recall petition against a sitting Democratic State Senator.
State Senators are the only Wisconsin state officials who can be recalled this year. All the lower house legislators, and the Governor, were elected or re-elected in November 2010, so they can’t be recalled now. Recall petitions must be signed by a number of voters equal to 25% of the last gubernatorial vote in that district.

There are 8 possible republican seats to flip in WI, also 8 possible democratic seats to flip this year. Notice that the GOP has been very quiet about its recall efforts.
My gut tells me that the DEMS will get at least 6 recall elections going, the GOP may get 3, perhaps. Right now the money is 50-50 on flipping the WI state senate.

I love this civic activism. Too bad WI voters will have to wait to bounce the governor over his switch and bait election tactics, i.e. campaign one way and act another when in office. I wish more voters had the ability to do this across the US.
How many of the incumbents got less than 55 percent — i.e. *may* get recalled — by a 5 percent switch ???
