Anthony Prowell is a Tucson, Arizona Democrat who wishes to run for Congress in the 8th district in 2012. However, that seat is now held by Gabrielle Giffords, who says she is at least eight months away from deciding whether she will run for re-election. Nobody is going to vote against Gabrielle Giffords after her shooting last January unless the voters make the election not about her shooting but about her politics. In which case, this guy might actually get 3-7% of the vote, and cause the GOP nominee to win (because of the split vote). Anything can happen (see Winston Churchill’s tossing after WW2).
Prowell must really want to damage pr for the Green Party.
He may make headway within the two-party structure. But this is a classic scenario for soliciting further condemnation for a third party from within the two-party system.
