The Working Families Party in New York seldom chooses its own nominee for state or federal office, but it has done so in the September 13 special election to fill the vacant Assembly seat, 54th district, in Brooklyn. This lengthy New York Times article suggests that the WFP nominee, Jesus Gonzalez, has a chance to win the election. The other candidates on the race are Rafael L. Espinal, who has the nomination of the Democratic, Republican, and Conservative Parties, as well as the “United We Can” label; and Deidra C. Towns, who is on the ballot as an independent candidate with the label “Community First.”
All three candidates are registered Democrats.
Cost per Vote ???
Will the ballots get to the U.S.A. military folks in the district who are on the front lines in SW Asia fighting BARBARIANS ???
Waiting for the usual suspect MORON responses.
NO vacancy elections — candidate/incumbent rank order lists to fill vacancies. Legislative body fill a vacancy by default.
Legislative bodies must now be 24/7 to deal with mass murder criminals, domestic and foreign.
I always root for the WFP from afar here in Indiana, and I really hope Mr. Gonzalez wins it. It’s a fascinating NYT piece in any case.
Of course he’s got a chance – fueled by the endless money supply of George Soros, who owns the WFP. This is a very interesting election because all three candidates are registered Democrats, the Democrat also has the GOP and Conservative backing, and the NY times actually has fair coverage of the election (unlike their unfairly cutting out Chris Hoeppner in the NY-9 special election).
Imagine if they chose their own candidate for potus….
So ALL candidates are registered Democrats? Plus one of these Dems. also has the Republican and Conservative Party nominations? Wow. Is that democracy in action or what?!
