#1, you’re right, but the 2011 Colorado legislature changed the deadline for doing that simple procedure to early June of the presidential election year.
Assuming Americans Elect’s petition to be a qualified party is valid, then Americans Elect will have the same September 2012 deadline as the other qualified parties to tell the state whom it is running for President and Vice-president.
