This story reveals that some important Massachusetts Democratic politicians are unhappy that the legislature recently passed a bill moving the 2012 non-presidential primary to September 6. September 6 is also the last day of the national Democratic convention.
It is odd that they chose a Thursday.
They didn’t choose Tuesday, September 4, because that is the day after Labor Day. Elections workers set up the polling place the day before the primary, but if they had people doing that on a holiday (Monday, Labor Day) the workers would get extra pay. They didn’t want to spend the money on that.
There is a Tuesday every week of the year.
How many Tuesdays before Labor Day in each year ???
Circa 35 ???
