New Hampshire allows write-ins in presidential primaries. In 1964, Henry Cabot Lodge won the New Hampshire Republican presidential primary on write-ins, and in 1968, Lyndon Johnson won the New Hampshire Democratic presidential primary on write-ins.
And in Iowa, anyone can compete even as a last minute entry, because it’s a caucus, and the people who show up can vote for anyone they wish.
