On April 27, the Hamilton County (Ohio) Board of Elections finally counted the disputed provisional ballots from the 2010 election for a Juvenile Court Judge. The count shows that the Democratic nominee, Tracie Hunter, defeated the Republican nominee, John Williams. This reverses the original count. The original count did not include certain contested provisional ballots. See this story.
My favorite/most disgusting part of this is that the Republican who lost (John Williams) is currently the other Juvenile Court Judge for Hamilton County. He got appointed a few months ago. In other words he already holds the position that this endless and costly fight has been over.
ALL mail ballots = NO election day polling place chaos.
See Oregon.
So, what does this mean? Will the person who was seated be forced to reimburse the County for the salary they received that they were not due?
# 3 — generally de facto officers get paid (pending legal stuff) — esp. if the work they did was apparently legal.
i.e. much too difficult to undo/reverse/redo apparent legal actions after the fact for various offices.
