Over a year ago, the Libertarian Party National Committee sued the Federal Election Commission, over the FEC’s determination that the Libertarian Party cannot receive a bequest amounting to several hundred thousand dollars in a lump sum. Instead, the FEC said the bequest must be doled out in increments of approximately $30,000 per year. This is because the law doesn’t permit individuals to give more than that amount per calendar year.
The Libertarian Party argues that the purpose of the limit on how much an individual may give to a party is to prevent the individual from exerting too much influence, but this rationale obviously makes no sense when the giver is no longer living. This case has moved slowly. Under the original scheduling order, all the briefs should have been in by now. But the briefing schedule has been altered, and now the briefs won’t all be in until September 14.
Goddamned flesh-bearing persons trying to influence our political process.
Damn them to hell!
With the amount of free speech in the Libertarian Party you may as well BE dead to have a voice. Especially when there’s money involved. 😉
I was a candidate for US President, won the only state primary allowing presidential candidates in Missouri with 52.7%, and my campaign was de-linked and omitted from their newsletter for lack of room.
I was for pure proportional representation, opposite gender #1 and liberty to self-categorize with penalty but I guess that was a threat to plans.
self categorize WITHOUT penalty
I think the USA Parliament is going to be a great free vehicle for the liberty to self-categorize without penalty, free speech, the non-initiation of force and smaller government.
Too bad the dead person didn’t ever hear about us. 😉

Estate of the late human = a fictional person as in the now infamous 2010 CU case ??? Duh.
The issue for me here is that the L’s party bosses control this money, and those same bosses own the mailing lists of the membership.
So when you’re an outsider, these party bosses simply mail out information about the choices which is biased to their own satisfaction.
There is no democracy in the L Party, it’s all about who owns the dues-paying membership lists and who controls the information to the lists.
From national down to state, their whole system is corrupt to the core.
