According to the Los Angeles Registrar of Voters office, as of July 31, Roseanne Barr is still a registered Green, even though she is now seeking the Peace & Freedom Party presidential nomination. There are no election law issues related to how she is registered, and she could qualify as the PFP presidential candidate no matter how she is registered.

Pingback: Roseanne Barr is Still a Registered Green, Even as She Seeks Peace & Freedom Presidential Nomination | ThirdPartyPolitics.us
According to information provided in emails to Peace and Freedom Party State Central Committee members, Roseanne Barr registered Green in Los Angeles County, California, when she was seeking the Green Party’s presidential nomination. This was apparently because the Green Party required that presidential candidates be registered Greens, and Hawaii (where Barr has mainly lived recently, and where she had been registered to vote) does not have voter registration by party.
Now that Barr has chosen Cindy Sheehan, a California resident, as her running mate, she intends to re-register to vote at her Hawaii residence so that there will be no legal question as to the ability of California electors to vote for both her and Sheehan.
As a Peace and Freedom Party officer I have been getting a flood of e-mails and phone calls from and about the various campaigns. I can update this one. More than a week ago, Roseanne Barr stated her intention to register to vote in Hawaii and help start the Peace and Freedom Party of Hawaii. (Re-registration in Hawaii, which has non-partisan registration, would cancel her California voter registration.) There was some delay, as the change of official residence had to be worked out with accountants and lawyers (something about the structure and ownership of a macadamia nut farm, not a problem most of us are used to having, though this may be somewhat more common in Hawaii). But the word early yesterday is that everything is straightened out, and Roseanne Barr is again registered to vote in Hawaii. Another note of interest is that while it was previously expected that she would not be present at the Peace and Freedom Party convention for the presidential discussion and vote (due to studio commitments for her show now in production) she just managed to arrange to be there to give her 15-minute speech, at 2:00 pm this Saturday.
Thanks for those very informative comments.
There is case law that having a presidential and vice-presidential candidate who live in the same state, can still be on the ballot in that same state. The Socialist Workers Party was challenged in 1968 in New York state because both their presidential and vice-presidential nominees lived in New York. But the SWP won the case. The reasoning is that if the November vote elected the SWP electors, then either the presidential or the vice-presidential candidate would then just move out of New York state before the electors vote in mid-December. Also in 1980 the PFP had Californians for both president and vice-president on the ballot, and no one claimed they should be off the ballot.
#5, all true but there is also the concern that voters (who don’t follow these legal discussions) might take a ticket less seriously than if the two candidates lived in different states.
I seem to recall that Cheney moved from Texas to Wyoming in order to be Bush Jr.’s running mate.
These are tiny details being promoted by MP Richard Winger [Libertarian] in order to create divisions instead of unity and teamwork.

“Why do you THINK they called it Google?”
Jimmy Ogle telephoned me yesterday and we talked about the Peace & Freedom Party. I said PFP needs to vastly increase the number of registered voters in order to remain on the ballot after November 2014 (assuming the law doesn’t change), and that it would be symbolically important for Roseanne Barr to change her registration to PFP. At the time I didn’t know that Roseanne Barr was planning to change her voter registration from California to Hawaii, and Jimmy didn’t mention that to me. If I had known that, I would not have raised the point. Jimmy said he doesn’t care if PFP goes off the ballot.
JIMMY OGLE (AKA James Ogle) IS FOR THE LIBERTY FOR ALL VOTERS TO SELF CATEGORIZE AS THEY WISH WITHOUT PENALTY ACROSS THE BOARD WITHOUT PENALTY.
The Libertarian Party is not for that.
Jimmy Ogle (aka James Ogle)is a jerk!
@10 I am not opposed, nor did I say I was opposed, to the PFP having ballot access. This is simply a way for the owner of BAN to try to buy into their bogus strategy of fighting with everyone. I am for working with people and I am not for fighting like old school politics.
Feel free to call me if you have any questions on how to work with people under pure proportional representation, votes cast as proof. If you are for suing people to win, then work with BAN. I’m not for suing for political victory, because suing is counter to seeking unity with all people.
I apologize if I did not respond to here quicker, approx. 80% of my comments are deleted or never posted.

BTW, if you think that wanting to work with people even when they are of differing party/category affiliation is being a jerk, then I wear your badge with honor, thank you.
I count votes under pure proportional representation, and that’s all. Plus I like to identify ways which promote conflict and expose them.
I like to work with ALL people, all parties, categories and independents.

@8 I called MP Richard Winger [Libertarian] to try to connect the US Senate candidate Colia Clark [Green] and Chris Edes [Libertarian]. Colia is cool, and she likes the idea of speaking with people across party lines. Edes, has not answered or returned a phone call.
NY US Senate candidates
Edes is (or was) a programmer with Free and Equal Foundation.
Of the 13 previous comments (not counting the two ping-backs), 7 were yours—but 80% of them are deleted or never get posted? That would mean you’d posted 35 comments while others had only posted 6.
@16 As owner of the IPR site, Hill is a control freak who likes to regularly censor and delete free speech comments, so it’s no wonder that he’s concerned about such issues.
How can anyone expect free speech to be nourished with the likes of these types who delete and censor?
