Virginia State Board of Elections Believes it has Found One Petitioner for Virgil Goode who Forged Signatures

The Virginia State Board of Elections believes it has found one petitioner from northern Virginia who submitted 146 petition sheets that were forged. This petitioner was circulating the petition to place Constitution Party nominee Virgil Goode on the ballot for President. On August 6 the State Board of Elections asked the Virginia Attorney General to investigate.

The Washington Post, in this article, gives the impression that the problem is bigger than it actually is. Goode has submitted 19,000 signatures already, to meet a goal of 10,000 signatures. Already, last month, the Board had verified 8,000 valid signatures, even before checking the signatures submitted since then. The sheets submitted by the petitioner who allegedly forged names were not part of the 8,000 signatures that had already been verified.

Goode has collected many of his signatures personally this year, something he has done in his past congressional campaigns.

  1. How about the DEATH Penalty or merely life in jail for forging singatures in ANY election stuff ??? — i.e. attempting to SUBVERT/DESTROY Demoocracy.

    P.R. and nonpartisan App.V.
Equal nominating petitions – with signatures.

  2. Out of curiosity how many signatures can fit on one sheet (not that all the sheets were necessarily filled but thinking of worst case scenario) on Virginia’s petitions? Anyone have any idea?

  3. #2 As many as 21 signatures can fit on one sheet. Goode still has about 16,000 possible signatures even if every sheet that this petitioner turned in was completely filled out and completely bogus. This should be enough to reach 10,000 valid, and even if it is not, there are still more than two weeks to get more signatures.

  4. Is the petitioner’s name identified on the sheet as it is in Maryland? It is not here in West Virginia and our party had a similar problem in 2008 with a paid petitioner whom we were not able to legally identify to prosecute.

  5. # 5 most SANE States require the circulator to put his/her signature and name and address on each petition sheet.

How many inter-State / inter-national FELONS having the forged signature stuff ???
