On December 18, the Federal Election Commission certified another $202,026 in primary season matching funds for Gary Johnson. Presumably, this is the final certification for him and any other presidential candidate for 2012. Johnson’s total 2012 primary season matching funds amount is now $510,261.
Thanks for doing it AFTER the election.
Does Johnson have campaign debt? This would certainly help retire it if he does.
#1… this was PRIMARY season funds. He was a Republican then.
No, during the official “primary season” (which for matching funds runs from Jan. 1 of the election year until the national convention date, Gary Johnson was a registered Libertarian. He switched his voter registration in December 2011.
Has he received the previous amounts? Last I heard he hadn’t.
BTW last I heard yes, there is still campaign debt.
@3 he was a primary season candidate from Dec 2011 until may 2012 for the Libertarian nomination as well. During that time period I maxed out my donations to him. Others also made donations.
The FEC post general election report for Johnson shows cash on hand $2,943 and debts of $197,002.
The similar 2008 post election report for Bob Barr showed cash on hand of $40,879 and debts of $214,221.
So $202,026 should pay off more then the dept….
I believe that if these reports are correct a very good financial ending for the Johnson 2012 efforts.
