Oklahoma House to Study Term Limits for State Supreme Court, One Day After State Supreme Court Curtails Legislators

On June 7, the Speaker of the Oklahoma House, T. W. Shannon, announced that the House will study term limits for members of the State Supreme Court. This was one day after the State Supreme Court released an opinion, invalidating several laws because they had all passed via one particular bill. The State Supreme Court was enforcing a State Constitutional provision that says bills can only embrace one subject. See this story.

  1. I actually support term limits for judges. But Casual Bystander is right: Oklahoma politics is a knife fight in a phone booth. Something is wrong there.
