Former president Jimmy Carter recently gave an interview to USA Today. Among other things, he said when the world looks at the United States, it “sees a democracy that’s not working.” See this story. Thanks to Thomas Jones for the link.

Attention – all math MORONS — even elder ex-Prez statesperson folks
NO *democracy* in the USA — due to the corrupt evil ANTI-democracy minority rule gerrymanders in the State regimes since 1776 and the USA regime since 1789.
ONLY *democracy* in areas where voter directly vote on stuff — i.e. const amdts, laws, referendums, recalls — which is only a very small part of the stuff compared to what the gerrymander MONSTERS do every working day.
P.R. and App.V.
If we simply amended the constitution so that only the House and not the Senate (as it is in most countries) needs to pass budgets then these negotiations would be much easier and faster. Two viewpoints is easier to compromise on than three.
That’s odd. When Jimmy Carter was president, I was the one who wasn’t working!!
