“Jolly thanked Sink and Overby and said it was “OK” that tens of thousands of others voted for his opponents.” Most politicians don’t thank their opposition after the election.
I think this was the first Libertarian candidate for US House of Representatives to ever be on the ballot in this Congressional district. I think Overby’s showing was really good. I hope he will run again for this or some other office in Florida.
Congrat’s to Mr. Overby. The really important thing is for minor party candidates to keep establishment candidates below the 50% level – proves that they do not have any sort of mandate or majority. Keep chipping away at ’em.
One more low voter turnout in one more rigged pack/crack gerrymander district.
