The August 19 Washington Post has this op-ed, advocating proportional representation, at least in the large and medium-size states, for the U.S. House of Representatives. The op-ed is by Katrina vanden Heuvel, editor and publisher of The Nation. Thanks to Rob Richie for the link.
The 9th USA Parliament has been using pure proportional representation (PR) for 19 consecutive years and it works great!

P.R. in ALL legislative bodies N-O-W.
Madison’s concept of the “extended republic” doesn’t make the op ed piece, I guess, because it doesn’t support the Post’s position.
Is the ability to know the “Framers’ intent” without actually reading the Framers’ writings a special God-given American aptitude?
A House elected proportionally would better serve to promote Madison’s concept of an “extended republic” than the winner-take-all system used presently.
Actually…no…read!
