On August 22, the West Virginia Secretary of State certified Phil Hudok for the November ballot, as a candidate for U.S. Senate. He is the Constitution Party nominee. The Constitution Party statewide petition in 2012 had not succeeded, although its 2010 petition for U.S. Senate had succeeded.
In 2012, we were not petitioning for U.S. Senate. We were only petitioning, briefly, for U.S. president and governor, but did not have enough boots on the ground then to complete that task. As of today, Phil is on the ballot by ONE (1) extra voter signature, but there are still three counties (Monongalia, Mineral, Pleasants) which have yet to report their signature numbers (392 pending), And, our Secretary of State is incorrectly interpreting our election law to use the 2008 instead of the 2012 U.S. Senate election vote totals as the basis of the 1% signature minimum thus leading to an over 400 signature higher requirement. Regardless, we made it and are looking forward to the October 7 televised debate with 3 minor party candidates doing battle with the establishment’s same-old-same-old: http://apps.sos.wv.gov/elections/candidate-search/
A big and hearty CONGRATULATIONS!!!
