Kentucky U.S. Senate Poll

On September 6, an NBC/Marist Poll was released for Kentucky Senate. The results: Republican McConnell 47%; Democrat Grimes 39%; Libertarian Patterson 8%; undecided 6%. Although I am away from home for a 3-week vacation and can’t check the records, my memory tells me that no minor party or independent candidate for U.S. Senate has ever polled as much as 8% in Kentucky. Thanks to PoliticalWire for the poll.

Kentucky U.S. Senate Poll — 6 Comments

  1. MONTEREY CALIFORNIA USA
    September 8, 2014
    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Thirty political candidates in a “Mock Unity Coalition” are organized through email under the unifying all party (and independents) voting system of pure American proportional representation (PR).

They’re headed up by anti-corruption candidate AKA “Mr. Prime Minister” Ron Gold [Republican] for State Attorney General and tax fighter Greg Conlon [Republican] for State Treasurer.

The collection of political candidates has a plan; Call on Republican, Democratic and independent voters to support the three independent candidates for Congress in congressional districts 5, 20 and 28 (Napa, Monterey and Los Angeles), and in exchange ask those same Republican, Democratic and independent voters for support in their own districts.

The list of candidates is as follows:
Greg Conlon [Republican] for State Treasurer (Santa Clara)
Ron Gold [Republican] for State Attorney General (Los Angeles)
Palmer Kain [Republican] for State Senate (Santa Cruz) AD29
Bob Conaway [Democratic] for US Congress (San Bernardino) CD8
Steve Stokes [Independent) for US Congress (Los Angeles) CD28
James Hinton [Independent] for US Congress (Napa) CD5
Dale Mensing [Republican] for US Congress (Marin, Humboldt, Del Norte, Mendocino Counties) CD2
    R. Adam King [Republican] for US Congress (Los Angeles) CD37
Ricard Benitez [Republican] for State Senate (Los Angeles) SD19
Peter Choi [Democratic] for State Senate (Los Angeles) SD24
Kaya of Behalf of Sandra Fluke for State Senate [Democratic] (Santa Monica) SD26
Eugene on Behalf of Ben Allan for State Senate [Democratic] (Santa Monica) SD26

Kevin McCarty [Democratic] for State Assembly (Sacramento) AD7
Joy Delepine [Republican] for State Assembly (Contra Costa) AD14
Tony Thurmond [Democratic] for Assembly (Alameda) AD15
Devon Mathis [Republican] for State Assembly (Kern) AD26
Andy Whallom [Republican] for Congress (Long Beach) CD47
Dave Erlich [Republican] for Assembly (Alameda) AD18
Pedro Rios [Republican] for Assembly (Kern) AD 32

  2. Congratulations to David Patterson and Kentucky Libertarians for a great poll showing!

  3. Can somebody tell me what this USParliament thing being promoted by someone called James Ogle. Apparently his email address does not work as I could not get my email to him to go through. While there may be some “good fun” to be had by participating in this what appears to be a “game,” I do not agree with a World Parliament. I am opposed to even the United Nations and suggest it be moved out side of U.S. Borders. Somewhere over in Iraq or Iran would be a good place for the United Nations to be headquartered – and with no U.S. support – monetary or otherwise.

  4. Well, if the Libertarian candidate David Patterson would run a populist style campaign such as the late Governor A.B. “Happy” Chandler might have ran, his numbers in the polls might start rising. But I have not doubt he is running on a platform of opposing Social Security and Medicare and urging the people of Kentucky to be content in living back in the late 1700’s. And I’m afraid the vote he will finally get in November, will be the message from the people of Kentucky telling him “that there is no way in hell they are going back to live in the 1700’s.”

  5. If your email couldn’t be sent to the US Parliament’s site, us the one on the “Contact” tab:

I do change my email address from time to time so perhaps you tried to email to an old one? My current email address is jamesoogle at usparliament dot org.

In regards to the new International Parliament, well that’s just a web page where people may vote using pure proportional representation (PR) from anywhere in the world as a single at-large district; earth. It has given us a way to connect with people internationally and that generates interest and good conversations with people around the world.

  6. The best performance appears to be by a Progressive candidate in 1914 (the first popular election) at 4.15%.

About 3/5 of the elections 20/34 there were no 3rd party candidates and only 7 challengers have topped 1%.

    1914 Progressive 4.15%
    1936 Union 1.28%
    1968 American Independent 1.02%
    1974 American 2.36%
    1978 American 2.15%
    1992 Libertarian 1.31%
    1998 Reform 1.10%
