George F. Will Virtually Endorses Greg Orman, Independent in Kansas

George F. Will’s September 24 column concerns the U.S. Senate race in Kansas. Will seems virtually to say that if he were a Kansan, he would vote for Orman. He also has an interesting analysis of Orman’s promise that he won’t cast a vote for Majority Leader of the Senate if that votes changes the outcome. Thanks to Sam Edelen for the link.

George F. Will Virtually Endorses Greg Orman, Independent in Kansas — 5 Comments

  1. Will writes that taking control of the Senate from Harry Reid is more important than improving 1% of the senators.

  2. I still think the GOP will be 1 or 2 votes shy of controlling the Senate – even if Orman wins. But could be wrong. Also, did not know the GOP had to defend 24 senate seats in 2016. Regardless of what happens this November, it doesn’t look good for the GOP in 2016 – especially if Hillary is at the top of the ticket.

  3. Hoping Dems with help of 3-4 Independents (Sanders-VT, King-ME, Orman-KS, Pressler-SD) keep “control” of Senate. Supreme Court could see 1-2 vacancies in next two years. Don’t relish the idea of GOP in control of confirmation process.

  4. Brad: Don’t know why you would worry if the GOP did win the Senate. I’ve yet to see the GOP dominated Senate reject a Democratic presidential Supreme Court nominee. But I do recall when the Democrats rejected a GOP presidential nominee for the U.S. Senate. Two that I can recall.

  5. In my last reply, I meant it to read, “But I do recall when the Democratic controlled Senate rejected a GOP presidential nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court. Two that I recall.”
