Evan Falchuk Sues to Regain Spot in Massachusetts Gubernatorial Debate of October 27

On October 22, Evan Falchuk, gubernatorial nominee of the United Independent Party of Massachusetts, filed a lawsuit in state court, seeking to regain his invitation to the October 27 debate. See this story. The basis for the lawsuit is breach of contract.

They always exclude independent and third party candidates from debates on the basis that they “do not have enough support.” In a certain sense, this is true in that part of the reason why they do not have enough support is because they do not get exposure in debates. The real reason for their exclusion is, of course, if they were in debates they just well might get “more support”!

  2. Very true, Gene. The “establishment” only wants two major parties – whether they be called the Democratic Party and the Republican Party – or whether they be called the Libertarian Party and the Constitution(al) Party.
