Delaware Congressman John Carney Will Debate his Green and Libertarian Opponents — 3 Comments

  1. It would be nice to see Rose Izzo, the GOP nominee finish last on election night. Apparently she is afraid to speak her about her positions on the issues and/or is afraid she cannot defend them.

My hat is off to the Democratic nominee, John Carney for willing to debate the 3rd party candidates.

Would be nice if more of them in other races and in other states – Democrats and Republicans would do likewise. In fact, would not be a bad idea to have as part of the qualifying conditions, that a candidate MUST be willing to participate in all Debates or else their name will not appear on the ballot.

  2. There seems to be a lot of Republicans who have refused to debate the other competition. The only issue those Republicans have is to say that the Democrats support Obama and that’s bad for business, but those Republicans never offer any solutions. So why vote Republican?

  3. David: I have to agree with you. Republicans usually care only for the business community, and give lip-service to most other issues.

Wasn’t it Republican President Calvin Coolidge who said something to the effect of “the business of government is business?” I’m afraid many if not most Republican office-seekers feel this way.

However, when the Democrats who control the government fail the people, or take positions on issues which the people do not like or agree with, the people usually punish them by voting Republican.
We may see this happen in the U.S. Senate races in November.

But what Republicans fail to understand, that just because they get elected, doesn’t mean the people support their “pro-business” positions on many issues. Then, when the people get tired of Republican-led government favoring the business community over the needs of the people, the people react by voting the Republicans out.

Its just like a revolving door.
