On November 17, the Michigan House Elections and Ethics Committee heard two hours of testimony about a bill that would award some electoral votes to whomever places second in the popular vote in the state. See this story. There will be another hearing on December 2 on the same subject.
Naturally, some in the GOP want this bill to pass as it could help the Republican nominee in 2016. However, if it passes, and it proves to be detriment to the GOP carrying a majority of the Electoral votes, then they will advocated it be changed back. Typical politics. Whatever it take to win.
Total EVIL at work.
ANTI-Democracy robot party hacks following orders from Devil City — the same way that the lower nazis followed the orders of Hitler in 1933-1945.
Following CRIMINAL orders = NO legal excuse.

See the infamous 1854 Kansas-Nebraska Act producing Civil WAR I in 1861-1865.
Doesn’t at-large election of presidential electors violate equal protection?
How about the at large election of USA Reps in States having 2 or more Reps ???
How about the blatant violation of NOT apportioning USA Reps after the 1920 Census ???
Result – in the 1932 election LOTS of USA Reps were elected at large —
Result the Donkey stuff in 1933-1934.

SCOTUS decisions on at-large elections has evolved since then.
If a state under certain circumstances use at-large representation for its legislature, why wouldn’t those same restriction apply to congressional or presidential elector election?
