Four states still haven’t quite finished tabulating votes from the November 4, 2014 election. California will finish by close of business December 5. New York will finish by December 15. Ohio doesn’t know when it will be finished, but estimates in a week from today. Texas will be finished December 5. The last state to finish is Oregon, which posted its results on December 4.
Of course, in some states, recounts for particular offices are proceeding.
California may have to the close of the business day of December 5, 2014 to finish their official tabulation of votes, but it appears for the last 3 or 4 days, that all the votes cast in Assembly District 79 have been counted.
I, because of my personal interest and pleased at the results, have checked the California SOS’s website each day, and it appears that all votes cast for candidates in Assembly District 79 have been counted.
Today – as it has been for the last 3 to 4 days – the following has been shown on the SOS website for Assembly District 79:
Democrat Shirley N. Weber, 49,264 votes.
American Independent George R. Williams, 30,266 votes.
Ms. Weber might have been expected to win the number of votes she has received. Mr. Williams, on the other hand, is to be commended for his 30,266 votes as the nominee of a 3rd party, even if it was only a two person race.
Does Mr. Winger have any time to eat and sleep — while keeping up to date with the election results, court cases, bills, etc. etc. ???
Abolish so-called *provisional ballots* — one more Donkey communist scheme to subvert Democracy by having alleged voters having zero connections with the place they are voting in.
See Oregon – ALL paper mail ballots.
FIXED early deadline for registrations.

Where did the date for Texas come from?
I too wonder when Richard has time to eat or sleep. He is a selfless, dedicated individual for ballot access fairness for 3rd parties and Independents. Who will take up this banner when he is know longer with us or able to be with us?
One thing we can do is help to speak out when Richard provides a story about a state increasing the requirements for ballot access. Last time I checked, we still have our 1st Amendment Right to do this.
I know I’ve written on this before, but 3rd parties of similar viewpoint, need to put their egos on hold and join together and promote unity tickets. Just like the Democrat candidate for Governor and a Independent Candidate for Governor in Alaska in 2014. The two candidates, during debates, begin to realize they were pretty much in agreement on major issues. As a result, the Democrat agreed to drop out and instead became the Lt. Gubernatorial candidate on the Independent candidate’s ticket.
We all know that became known as the WALKER-MALLOTT ticket and guess what – it won the governorship in Alaska.
We 3rd partisans and Independents need to do the same thing. Also, splitting a ticket up with one 3rd party running for Governor, another 3rd party running for Secretary of State, and yet another 3rd party running for U.S. Senate or Congress.
There are all sorts of ways we can work together. With social media and the internet, we can get our word out. But the first thing we’ve all go to do is get rid of this silly notion that “only my 3rd party is right, thus everybody needs to abandon their 3rd party and join my 3rd party.” How silly!
With this kind of attitude, we ain’t gonna get anywhere.
A phone conversation on Thursday with Laurie in the Sec. of State’s office. She was very friendly.
The county canvasses were required to be completed by November 18.
The governor canvasses the statewide and multi-county results, on a date set by the Secretary of State, within a certain range of dates (the latest of December 8). I was unable to find a date on either governor’s website or the SOS website.
It is a bit misleading to say they are still “counting”, since the canvass consists of tabulating the totals and approving them. I’m sure the SOS does all the work, and the governor requires about 3 minutes.
The election for governor is canvassed by the legislature. Since that won’t happen until January, you could claim that Texas will not have completed their counting until then.
Laurie is likely from Texas.
Great Article. Thanks for the info. Does anyone know where I can find a blank california sos form to fill out?
